The Jilted Film Festival will be held in NYC, April 2006. The Festival is now accepting comedy shorts that have been passed over by other festivals.

The Jilted Film Festival of comedy shorts is a fresh, fun, campy way for up-and-coming filmmakers to make lemonade out of lemons and celebrate the spirit of perseverance. It's an opportunity for audiences to see very funny films they won't have the opportunity to see in other film festivals. Nontzeflash III Animated Film Competition

The Nontzeberri.com cultural web site promotes the 3rd Animated Film Competition called Nontzeflash. This is an online competition on the notzeflash.com site. The best animated films will be shown on Bilbao's Fantastic Film Festival (FANT 2006) The animated films have to be produced in SWF file, no bigger than 2,5 MB. Awards: to the best animated film 2000 euros, second award 1500 euros, third award 900 euros. To the best animated film of Basque Country 900 euros. Registering is free.
Evolution 2006 call for entries

Lumen invite submissions of new artists' films and videos for a new screening series taking place during the Evolution 2006 programme (3-9 April 2006). The Plymouth Independent Film Festival (PIFF ’06)

Call for the submission of films for the Plymouth Independent Film Festival. Feature films, documentary and fiction as well as short films and animation, will be chosen for screenings at various locations in Historic Downtown Plymouth this summer from July 20th to July 23rd.
 
The Plymouth Independent Film Festival accepts works in progress. Foreign language films without subtitles will only be eligible to be screened as a work in progress. Walt Disney/ABC Entertainment Writing Fellowships

Fellowships in the feature film and TV areas are offered. No previous experience is necessary but writing samples are required. Salary is $50,000 for a one-year period beginning in February, 2007. For consideration, an application, writing fellowship program letter agreement, writing sample with proof of current reigstration with Writers Guild of America or the Library of congress, resume, and autobiography must be submitted together between May 1, 2006 and June 23, 2006.
