The Design Festival: The Value of Design. Portland, OR. October 7-17 with a state wide juried exhibit of design works, keynote speakers, an awards ceremony and other events. An exhibit will present the best design works from all of Oregon and SW Washington. A national jury will select the top three works in: Architecture, Interior Architecture, Landscape, and Public Environments.

ON GOING EVENTS

DIVA Presents 2nd Friday Film Forum. The Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts (DIVA) offers a monthly showing of independent films on the second friday of each month. Schedule: September: The Best of Peripheral Produce's Short Films, October: I Exist - an award-winning film about gay and lesbians of middle eastern descent, November, Youthvisions - local Eugene kids produced short videos, and December, Open Lens -a chance for filmmakers to screen their short films and videos (see next item).
